Finding additional methods for keeping parents informed is an important part of a positive school climate. One enhancement I established at Pocahontas was the migration from PowerPoint to Google Slides for the rolly-scrolly announcement. These announcements scroll on the internal broadcast throughout the day. By moving these to a published Google Presentation, I was able to embed them on the Parent Portal so that parents could also be kept informed of the events and other announcements in the school.
