Lesson Summary
In self-selected groups, students research an assigned British poet. They then create a multimedia product that includes a creative variety of visual and auditory devices to introduce their poet to the rest of the class. They also select and analyze a poem by their poet, and teach the class about their chosen poem.
Students are responsible for planning and creating their multi-media project as a team; assigning team roles; researching their poet; providing citations for all information used; reading, analyzing, and teaching a poem; synthesizing material to create a notes handout for classmates; demonstrating good public speaking skills; and reflecting on the success and challenges they have during the process.
