Summary

The students will learn about citizens who worked to defend the basic principles that formed the foundation of a republican form of government. The students will use prior knowledge to recall facts, then pair and share information with their peers. The student will read and demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction and comprehension of information from other print resources. The student will analyze the information and write a summary of the citizens’ contributions and make their own paper dolls of their Famous American. The student will analyze the information and incorporate it into creating a 21st century project that shows the citizens’ background information and contributions. Students will create second artifact by choosing between using iMovie or ActivInspire Instagram Template.

TIPC Ratings

Students will select appropriate digital tools to assemble, evaluate, and utilize information by choosing their project format. Students apply varied research skills through the use of various print and online resources. Students use information and resources to present real world 21st Century projects.

Diverse groups of students will communicate and collaborate when sharing Think-Pair-Share information. Students collaborate and create original works during iMove and Instagram creations.

Students can choose from various 21st Century skill based projects for the planning and design of their projects. Students use technology to collaborate when they are choosing the design of their project. Students select which information is most important to be included in their project. Students ask and answer higher-level questions during the Learn part of the KWL process.

Students apply critical thinking skills and research methods to create original and group projects which showcase learned knowledge of each Famous American. Students use various computer based programs and online resources to research and create their projects.
