Summary
During this lesson students worked independently to create a trailer to advertise the book that they read for their 9 week book report. This was done using iMovie and Britannica ImageQuest. Through this activity and the preceding reading, students were able to identify the main ideas of their book. They were also able to learn to write persuasively. Students were able to learn/practice technology skills including research, creativity, and critical thinking.

Students used skills modeled by ITRT/teacher to research for pictures to include in their movie.
This was an independent student project. A small bit of collaboration occurred when students were allowed to assist one another with questions on using the iMovie program. Students who successfully completed their projects became peer tutors.
Students made use of digital tools to create individual iMovies to show how they were able to use the skill of locating main idea and writing to persuade.
Students each created an original work that they were then able to share with classmates and students in the building on our WCBC Broadcast News to entice and encourage more reading within the school.
