Driving Community Responsibility Through PSAs – 7965

Summary

Do we as citizens have a responsibility to use our skills and strengths to help promote peace and well being in our community? Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen is a novel about a character who not only learns about himself, but also discovers his role in his community and the importance of giving back.

This group project allowed students to investigate their community and their place within it. Students researched the services provided in their local area and determined a needed service for a specific population in their community. Student groups designed the service and created media to advertise the service to the target population as a way to give back to their own community.
