Summary

Students will work on creative video explanations of the two math standards learned about in previous units: distributive property and also order of operations. Students will pick their partner, program and topic for a math review and explanation, similar to the Khan Academy website. Videos will be put into the real world by being posted on our class blog and offered to other classes and schools to use for review.

Students will select appropriate digital tools to assemble, evaluate, and utilize information by choosing their project format. Students apply varied research skills through the review of Khan Academy, school blogs/wikis from around the world, and other websites of students choosing from the Google Search: student created math videos. This would fall under Approaching.

Diverse groups of students will communicate and collaborate when sharing Think-Pair-Share information and through their video presentation. Students initiate communication in real and non-real time through the class blog website and through a Google Doc. Students collaborate and solve real world problems and create original works when they demonstrate understanding of math concepts through their video presentation. They communicate information to the group during their presentation and when the videos are posted on the class blog for other classes. This would fall under Target

Students can choose from various 21st Century skill based projects for the planning and design of their projects. Students use technology to collaborate when they are choosing the design of their project and how their videos will convey the information through their storyboard. Students select which information is most important to be included in their project. This would fall under Developing
