Summary
In this lesson, students work in small groups to practice telling time to the hour. The students will plan for and create a story to describe a typical day. The students worked on the iPads in the Story Kit app to create their book. Each page includes a picture of students acting out various activities that occur during different times of the day (eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner, taking a nap, doing homework, sleeping, etc.). Students used the large “Judy” clock to show time to the hour. On the page, students also record their voice to tell the time they pictured, and explain what is happening in the picture at that time. The completed Story Kits were posted on the classroom blog for students and parents to view and comment. Students reflected on their finished products by viewing and discussing the Story Kits in class.
