Bill of Rights

Summary

The students created a visual representation for the Bill of Rights. Students selected appropriate images, text and music to illustrate their knowledge.  Originally designed as a PowerPoint assignment it has evolved into other digital creations.

TIPC Ratings

Developing – The teacher demonstrated the use of Google searching for images and using the size filter for quality images that would not pixelate when used for the assignment.  Students used demonstrated research techniques in order to find images to portray the Bill of Rights.  Students also found sites to help them understand the meaning of each amendment in the Bill of Rights.

While all strands of the TIPC are important and should be addressed, this lesson is focused on Creativity and Innovation. There are ways to increase the level of Communication and Collaboration but they may not tie as closely to the learning outcomes focused on in this lesson.

Approaching The students selected images to express visually each freedom presented in the Bill of Rights. Students created a meaningful digital work to demonstrate what they understand about the amendments.
