The students were engaged while in center rotations and while creating their animal body covering. Meaningful questioning were taking place as the teacher circulated around the room, which provided the teacher with the opportunity to informally assess the students. The students had the opportunity to use critical thinking when choosing the animal covering they used. They also used critical thinking skills when deciding which animal belonged under which heading while in the Promethean center. In the proscope center the students were using critical thinking when trying to figure out which body covering the animal belonged to. In the writing center the student was critical thinking by being able to choose a body covering that was not appropriate for the animal, and they had the opportunity to write as to why it was not appropriate. The students also chose which digital tools they used for the iPads/computers station. Reflection and setting goals for future growth was on the carpet at the end of the lesson as noted in the lesson plan.
