Summary
Students formed groups and created a movie to display the required constructions. This project afforded the students the opportunity to demonstrate content mastery of this skill. The students were given guidelines for the project (attached rubric) and were free to select the application of their desire. Flip cameras, phones, and ActivInspire were used to record. Finally, the students were asked how constructions are used in the “real world” and required write a paragraph its application.

Developing: The students worked in their selected groups with defined roles.
Approaching: The teacher developed a lesson that requires the student to think critically and create the constructions. She continually supported students through out the process with effective questioning skills. Students created and defended their constructions using a variety of digital and non digital tools. The written paragraph connecting the constructions to real world application helps the students to validate their learning.
Approaching: The teacher designed a task that allow some freedom of choice while requiring collaboration and a high level of critical thinking and problem solving. The students created their own construction projects. These projects were meaningful and original products.
