Week 24 Update

Wow! Can you believe that it is already March? This school year is flying by!!!

Last week we worked hard learning to tell time to the hour and half hour. The students had a blast designing their own watches for our “What time is it?” activity. In social studies we discussed the location and climate of Virginia. We took a “road trip” to different areas of our country to compare the geography, climate, and recreational activities with Virginia. In reading we read several versions of the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea” while discussing the plot versus theme of the story.

Next week is a busy one as well! We will celebrate Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss with spirit week activities. Flyers were sent home last week with details.

Our field trip to Maymont is this Thursday, March 5th. Please be sure to dress your child appropriately for outdoors and pack a bagged lunch! It’s sure to be a great day!
