CFA Students Earn National Recognition in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

We are so proud to share with you the results of this year’s National Scholastics Art and Writing Awards. We had THREE NATIONAL SILVER KEY WINNERS for VISUAL ARTS and a NATIONAL GOLD KEY WINNER for LITERARY ARTS this year! All four recipients are Level IV CFA Visual Arts students!

These students were selected from hundreds of thousands of regional entries throughout the country and because they won gold at the regional level, their submissions were blindly adjudicated by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts. These prestigious awards make them eligible to publish in national collections in print and online and nominate them for top scholarship opportunities at art & writing colleges around the country.

A very limited number of students are honored around the country so please congratulate the following three students for their SILVER MEDAL RECOGNITION on the national level:

Emmy Garcia for Fibers/Mixed Media
Yazmine Dearing for Drawing & Illustration
Camille Varner for Drawing & Illustration

Our gold key winner on the national level this year is among the most select group of students who will be honored in NYC at a special ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 8th !  Please congratulate Rose Rea for her winning entry in the Short Story Literary Arts category!

Rose is one of only THREE students in the state of Virginia to receive this prestigious award!!

This is our first Gold Key National CFA winner for literary arts so a big congratulations to Rose Rea and her AP Literature teacher Mr. Hollowell in our CFA arts-infused academic program.  They will both travel (along with CFA Visual Arts teachers) to New York City in June to represent Henrico High School in a national program of events and exhibit at Parsons School of Design.
