Henrico Center for the Arts student Phaedra Beauchamp won first place in this year’s Congressional Art Competition and was honored at Capital One on Saturday, May 4th by Rep. She is a talented and motivated student who seeks perfection in all of her artistic endeavors.”

Beauchamp will have her work displayed in the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. from June 2013 until May 2014. “On behalf of the Center for the Arts, we are thrilled that Phaedra’s portrait has been selected as the winner of the 2013 Congressional Art Award. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Phaedra and a testament to her artistic abilities for having been recognized with such a distinguished award during her sophomore year,” said Stephanie Poxon, the Center for the Arts specialty center chair. “We look forward to taking our students to D.C. to view Phaedra’s work, as her accomplishment is an inspiration to her fellow classmates here at the Center for the Arts and Henrico High School.”
