For several years HCPS has accessed the Tumblebooks database through a statewide subscription provided by the Library of Virginia. Recently access was blocked for all users with HCPS IP addresses because Tumblebooks’ Terms of Use prohibit anyone inside a school building from accessing the database unless a school subscription has been purchased.
We were successful in obtaining a trial subscription to Tumblebooks through the end of January and access continues to be available on Clever. Due to the prohibitive cost of purchasing a countywide subscription, our access to Tumblebooks will end at that time. Library Services is actively searching for affordable, alternative products.
