HCPS: Implementation of the new Online Teacher Receipting System for all the Elementary and Secondary Schools beginning January 2017.

Financial Secretaries,

HCPS is happy to announce the implementation of the new Online Teacher Receipting System for all the Elementary and Secondary Schools beginning January 2017.

No longer will elementary teachers have to receipt student payments in a receipt book.  All teachers will be required to use this system.  It is as simple as pulling up to your computer log in to OSMS, receipt the student and send the receipt via the parent email if available or print the student receipt and hand it to your student!  At the end of the day, the teacher will batch their daily receipts, print a copy of the teacher deposit report, sign and date the deposit report, and along with the funds take them to the schools bookkeeper/secretary. Transition for secondary schools should go very smoothly, as they are currently using a similar system (RBS).

Training for elementary school secretaries will take place on January 4, 2017 and the secondary financial secretaries will train on January 5, 2017.   The Finance and Budget Department have been working with Instructional Technology to receive the help of our ITRTs’ to train the teachers on the use of Online Teacher Receipting.  The school secretary/financial secretary will be the main support for Online Teacher Receipting.  The finance and budget department will always be available to assist where needed and OSMS has a great online support system in place.

Online School Management Systems (OSMS) also offers Online School Payments for parents.  Our Secondary Schools have been using online receipting for two years and have enjoyed the conveniences.  We encourage the elementary schools to offer their parents the opportunity to pay for field trips, field day tee shirts and any other miscellaneous items online, using credit cards and/or bankcards.  There is a 4% convenience fee charged to the parents by OSMS.  Funds will be deposited into the school bank account twice a month and a statement is sent via email to the school financial secretary.  The elementary secretary will receive training on OSP also on January 4, 2017.
