Dream Big Day will take place Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the game versus Hampton starting at 12 p.m. This year, we are going to have a larger portion of the event centered around our biology and chemistry departments as they will have exhibits and interactive experiments. The event is primarily for grades 4-8. The biggest change from past years is that this year the event is FREE! Please feel free to send this letter to your principals and let them know to contact me with any questions.
University of Richmond Athletics is excited to announce the date of our annual Dream Big Day at the Robins Center for the 2016-17 men’s basketball season! This season, Dream Big Day will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. This event provides a FREE opportunity for Richmond-area elementary and middle school students in grades 4-8 to visit our campus to participate in interactive educational activities before an exciting Spiders men’s basketball game! Over the past few years, we have had thousands of students attend and are looking forward to another great year.
This year’s Dream Big Day offers unique activities focused primarily on chemistry and biology. The pregame events include hands-on events and demonstrations, courtesy of the University of Richmond Chemistry and Biology departments. After both stations, your students will return to their seats to watch the Spiders men’s basketball team take on Hampton!
Please note the following items regarding the event:
• Schools will provide bus transportation; free parking is available on campus in lots near the Robins Center.
• Tickets are FREE! We will need a head-count for seating purposes.
• Reserved-seating sections will be assigned by school and marked in the arena for easy seating.
• Students are required to bring their own lunches and/or additional money for concession stands.
• Each school in attendance will have the school’s name announced and displayed on the video board.
