2015-16 REB Awards: Nominate an outstanding principal

Know a principal who’s doing an amazing job? Nominate him or her for an REB Award!

The REB Awards for Distinguished Educational Leadership provide a tangible, public way to recognize an outstanding Henrico County principal. The Community Foundation’s yearly awards identify, recognize and support leadership excellence in the Richmond area. Honorees receive an unrestricted $7,500 cash grant, and $7,500 to be used for school initiatives. Nominees should have served in their current positions for at least three years.

Who can nominate?
The Community Foundation invites nominations from colleagues, school personnel, administrators, students, parents and the community at large. Principals may not nominate themselves.

What are the criteria?
Nominees should be principals who:

• Inspire their students and are advocates for their school and their faculty.
• Encourage team spirit.
• Foster cooperation between the school and the community.
• Maintain dialogue with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
• Have served in their current positions for at least three years.

What form does a nomination take?
