Surplus Property

Please review the information below as a reminder regarding disposal for surplus property.

Per Henrico County Policy and the Purchasing Manual, all items (equipment, furniture, etc.) that are identified by a location as no longer needed or ready for disposal must be removed using the proper surplus procedures.

The Furniture and Equipment Inventory Form “FEIA” must be completed (see attached). Section 1 is for items identified as surplus that can be repurposed or sold. Section 2 is for items that are identified by the school for disposal (water damaged, mold, broken glass, hazardous, etc.). The form must be signed by the principal and submitted to Jennifer Pierce, General Services, at jlpierce@henrico.k12.va.us. Jennifer will work with the C&M Logistics Foreman to schedule pickup. The C&M Logistics Foreman will review the items for disposal and if in agreement, will sign off on the FEIA form when items are picked up. Items should not be disposed of until the form is completed, submitted to General Services, and approval received.

Please include as much detail on the form as you can, including serial numbers for electronic equipment. Please note, C&M will only pick up and remove items that are listed on the form and processed by General Services. A location should not contact C&M directly for removal of surplus items. Please work through General Services.

Please share this information with employees in your building who work with surplus property.

Thank you for your assistance and do not hesitate to contact Jennifer Pierce or Angela Melton at apmelton@henrico.k12.va.us with any questions.
