What Music Means to Me by JJ

The mind has entered the darkness that doesn’t seem like you really can’t get out unless something starts
to pop in mind. A certain amount of light that shines into your mind that makes you happy but it doesn’t
really last very long. The darkness will come back and haunt you before you even blink for a second. You
try everything to stop this darkness from looming over your head. Though there was one friend, that one
best friend, you have told you to listen to music. You thought to yourself, “No, how does music really
help me. Isn’t music just to make you excited but then it dies away when you just turn off the music.”
Your friend stared at you as if he can read your mind and tells you, “If you are listening to it very closely,
you will realize that you can cancel the hatred and sadness that was upon you.” You start to laugh as hard
as you can but then you start to hear music in your ears. You looked around the room to figure out where
the music was coming from. You looked everywhere. You went upstairs and downstairs then outside but
you still hear music loud and clear. You sit down on the ground and put your hands over your ears but it
doesn’t do anything good. You start to shake as if you were possessed. The best friend who has been with
you for years decides to sit next to you and whispers, “You are thinking about the music that you used to
hear all the time and you loved it.” You start to open your eyes wide then stare at him but you realize it
was true. You remembered that you listened to music and you always dance to the beat of the song. Now
you start to realize that music isn’t that bad at all. Music really does help you through your darkest times
and it is your stress reliever. You couldn’t do anything without music. You start to smile and pull out your
earbuds and your phone then start playing music once again on your old playlist. You smile even more
then said to yourself, “Now I’m back to normal again. Music is my source of happiness.”
