As an extension to their unit on the Solar System, some students in Mrs. Bowles’s 4th grade class researched a constellation of their choice using a variety of books and websites.

Next, they used YakIt Kids on the iPads to make a picture of the constellation talk.

Finally, we went into Scratch and created backgrounds to show the constellation. Then the students used code to program their constellation tour guide to explain their constellation. Their finished products are quite impressive!! Take a look at Trinity’s sample:
