Dear families,
We had a great week reading fiction and poetry in class as well as conducting lots of probability experiments!

Next week is the last week of the third quarter marking period as well as the week before Spring Break! We have lots of fun and special activities for the students to enjoy. On Monday we will be participating in JA in a DAy (Junior Achievement). Volunteers from the business sector will be in our classroom for the entire day teaching the students about economics. On Wednesday, March 27 we will learn about careers from 8 am until 9:45. On Thursday, March 28 the Third Grade will have a movie and popcorn party from 11 am until 12:30 for students earning PAW Achievement for the third nine weeks. A letter will be sent home on Tuesday to give more information. Finally, Friday, March 29 is a half day and a STEAM Day! The students will be investigating plant life cycles and planning the best use for our outdoor classroom. We will use math, technology, and collaboration with others. More information about this exciting day will also come home next week!
Even with all the excitement we will continue to learn. In reading we will focus on fables. We will write using descriptive words. In Math we will continue to practice probability and focus on word problems. In Social Studies we will continue to learn about Economics.
