Welcome to the “Lyons’ Den!” I look forward to a great year of learning! This is my nineteenth year as a teacher here at Glen Allen. I truly love Glen Allen and the family like atmosphere that it resonates.
I am a native Richmonder. I attended Henrico County Schools, and graduated from Mills E. Godwin High School. I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as the University of Richmond.
I am married and the proud mother of 27 year-old twin girls, Savannah and Sarah. Savannah is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Sarah is a graduate of James Madison University. Both of my girls were married last year and now I am the proud mother-in-law of two wonderful sons! I am very fortunate that they both live less than 15 minutes away!
I am an avid animal lover and have a dog, Murphy and a cat, Rio.
Things that I enjoy doing in my free time include reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and attending and watching a variety of sporting events. I am a HUGE fan of the VCU basketball team and try to make it to as many games as possible. Go Rams! I am also a BIG fan of the Miami Dolphins. I enjoy outings to JMU and Virginia Tech football games.
I believe that each student’s success in school is determined by having the child, the teacher, and the parent working together to ensure an optimum learning experience for the student. I hope that we have many opportunities to work together during the school year and get to know one another very well.
