October 17, 2021

We had a blast learning this week! We completed a few fun science experiments to go along with our matter unit and we’re observing to see the changes that are taking place. We’ll use the Scientific Method to explain our observations next week. The students did a great job acting as a tour guide for our Henrico Historical Sites. We’ll share the remainder of these in class next week. This took a little longer so we delayed learning about and assessing our unit on Henrico’s economy until next week.

Next week is Digital Citizenship Week! In addition to completing digital citizenship lessons in class please join in the fun by participating in our spirit days listed below!

Don’t forget EVERY Wednesday is House spirit day. Show your house colors and connect with other house members throughout the school!

Regency Square Mile Run is scheduled for October 31st! To participate in this competition, students enter their school name when registering for the race (link available at www.livered.org/regency-mile).

Students will also observe different states of matter through our in-class experiments and observe how physical and chemical changes affect these states using the Scientific Method.

Social Studies: Students will finish their tour guide presentations on Henrico’s Historcial Sites and then we will move into the economy of Henrico. The quiz on Henrico’s economy has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 10/20. At the end of the week we will begin learning about the 5 themes of geography – Movement, Region, Human -Environment Interactions, Location, Place (helpful acronym to remember these: Mr. HELP).
