NJROTC gets new commander

As a logistics officer in the United States Navy, Commander Curtis Irby traveled to places as far away as Bahrain and Japan. Retired Commander Irby has started a new journey using his 25 years of experience to teach over 100 NJROTC cadets how to dream big.

New coach makes history

For the first time in Varina history, the boys varsity volleyball team has a female coach, exceptional education teacher Emily Mickelson. Although she is not new to coaching volleyball, she is new to coaching boys volleyball.
