The JV boys basketball took on the Thomas Dale Knights December 2 at Varina High School.
The Blue Devils started off strong putting the first points on the board; however, the Knights did not get discouraged.
By halftime the Knights led the Blue Devils by six points.
However, the six point lead did not stop sophomore point guBard Qion Gallon, freshman shooting guard Jason Wiggins, or freshman guard Warren Akande from throwing up 3 point shots in the third quarter.
Their efforts assisted by sophomore guard Zion Ross and freshman guard Kenneth Massenburg, Jr. caused the Devils to pull ahead with 44 points versus the Knights 37 points.
Going into the fourth quarter the Devils and Knights were both anxious.
The Devils slowly started to pull away with 53 points. However, the Knights did not give up and with 44 seconds left in the game the Knights tied the Devils.
When the scoreboard went off the game was not over. The matchup had to go into overtime.
Three minutes were put on the board and the Knights scored off the jump.
The Blue Devils also racked up a couple points but sadly came up short 61-57
