The Varina varsity boys volleyball team came out on top on Tuesday, October 28 against the Henrico Warriors.
The first out of the three heated matches was well played by Henrico.
Varina slipped up a few times at the beginning of the game but made a comeback in the second match.
Early on in the second match, senior setter Keith Dunkum set the ball for a spike by junior front middle Cameron Hopkins. Then senior front middle Josh Christmas got the kill out of Keith Dunkum’s set and brought the score to twelve to seven with Varina leading.
The Blue Devils came out on top of this match with a score of twenty-five to thirteen.
The third and final match had some exciting plays including four Blue Devils scrambling to keep the ball up. Senior strong side hitter Cole Dunkum served the ball to Henrico which returned a net ball.
The Blue Devils won the third match and the game ended with a score of twenty-five to twenty in favor of the Devils.
