Despite a big effort, Varina’s JV girls volleyball team fell short in their game against Lee-Davis on October 14.
In the first match, sophomore libero Danielle Billips dove and dug a serve off the floor helping the Blue Devils gain a point, but Lee-Davis triumphed 25-14.
In the second match, sophomore middle front hitter Amari Bacot served and launched the ball three times in a row, and Lee Davis was unable to return the ball.
Still, Varina lost the second match 25-15.
Amari said the biggest thing the team could work on is talking to each other while on the court.
“We didn’t communicate as well as we used to, which is where we kind of fell off,” she said.
