JV pitcher gets ‘the call’

When positions need to be filled, JV players are often called up to the varsity level. During the Spring Break Tournament, sophomore pitcher Michael Props took the mound against Hopewell, leading the varsity Blue Devils to a 5-1 victory.

Junior captain and midfielder Xavier Young is in his third season of play for the Blue Devils. Usually the team gets five or six wins during the season.

Girls soccer struggles to keep hopes high

Six games into the season, the girls varsity soccer team is 1-5. Although they try to pull things together during practice, they said things just don’t click on the field.

Schools face multiple scheduling changes

Henrico County Public Schools has changed its calendar for the current school year and its bell schedule for next year. A proposal to begin school before Labor Day is also being considered.
