Students will apply their knowledge of non-fiction sources to respond to investigation choices focusing on Ancient Greece/Rome and European Explorers.

Approaching: Students are constructing questions to guide their research about Ancient Greece/Rome, immigration, and European explorers. Throughout their research, students will identify and select the most appropriate digital tools and information sources to accomplish their research goal. Teacher responds to the students’ questions by supporting students as they acquire, evaluate, and apply information.
Approaching: Teacher assists each collaborative group without direct supervision. Students form teams and organize roles to address the chosen research task. Students identify and select appropriate digital tool to create the final product.
Developing: Students generate and respond to higher order questions while applying their knowledge of digital tools to respond to self-selected class assignments. The teacher proposes tasks that require students to think critically and/or solve problems in the research tasks.
Approaching: The teacher designs research opportunities for students to synthesize, research, communicate/collaborate, and apply critical thinking skills to address a research task. Students respond to the self-selected research opportunity with meaningful, original work within the assignment parameters.
