Summary
This lesson is designed to present students with an interactive way of researching and reporting information about a specific geographic region in Virginia. The students will perform independent research of the topic, create a Promeathean flipchart, and orally present their topic to the entire class and teacher.
TIPC Ratings
This lesson is Approaching for Research & Information Fluency. The students used One Search, Regions of Virginia website, and the VA Trekkers site to locate information on their region. The students also had an opportunity to use books from the library on the different regions to assist them in their research, as well as a flipchart on about the 5 regions.
This lesson is entry for Communication & Collaboration. The students worked with partners to conduct research and create their flipchart.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving was not observed in this lesson.
This lesson is Entry in Creativity & Innovation. Students used the provided flipchart template to create a presentation on their region.
