Summary
Students will work in small groups to create their own short stories. To introduce short stories, students will work with Mrs. Abernathy, the school librarian, to understand what short stories are. In their small groups, students will work to brainstorm, plan, and write their own short stories. Using the program Pixie, students will create virtual pictures that go along with each page of their short story. Students will record their voices reading the short stories as well in Pixie. Finished stories will be exported as podcasts which will then be downloaded onto the iPods. In their small groups students will watch and listen to each group’s virtual stories. Students will conclude the project by blogging on the class blog about each group’s virtual story.
