This project provided the opportunity for many different types of learners to feel successful. The kinesthetic learners enjoyed moving the scenery and manipulating the pieces. The linguistic learners found success in writing the script. The artistic learners thrived in designing the background and creating all the pieces for the project. The multiple intelligence piece was provided; however, each child learned with their peers, and came to understand, the importance that each part has in making a successful project.
TIPC Ratings
Entry: Students researched their ecosystem on their own. There is not enough information in the lesson plan to determine if the teacher gave the student resources or there was any instruction on how to search for that information. Students are required to cite their sources.
Developing: The teacher provides students with the opportunity to collaborate in class and works with them on collaboration skills throughout the project. She creates groups based on set criteria. Communication by students is ongoing throughout the project as they work together to create their video.
Students respond to recall questions as part of this project which falls in entry. Students must problem solve when creating their videos and think critically to be able to execute their final product.
Students use their knowledge to create original videos using stop motion paper animation.
