Summary
This project is used as an integral part of a 2nd grade unit on famous Americans. Prior to beginning the project, the students will have learned essential information about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Helen Keller, Martin Luther King Jr., and Jackie Robinson. Students will work in cooperative groups to create a digital representation of understanding about a chosen Famous American. Students will present projects to the class on the share day.

Entry: This lesson falls in the entry level of the rubric due to the limited nature of the resources provided to students. Students were directed to use only classroom resources (text, notes, study guides, etc.) to locate the information necessary to complete their assignment.
Developing: This lesson falls in the developing level of the rubric. Opportunities were given for students to collaborate on their assignment in their self-chosen teams during class.
Developing: This lesson falls into the developing level of the rubric. Students were provided with higher-order questions to consider while finding factual details about their chosen person and elaborated on their thought processes when prompted.
Developing: This lesson falls in the developing level of the rubric. Students were provided with opportunities to connect factual knowledge about famous Americans with how their contributions impact today’s society. In addition, they were given some choice of product.
