Wk of 1/6

Welcome back!  It was so good to see everyone again this week and hear about your awesome holidays!  We started the year off strong with lots of learning and really cool investigations!  Our class has also gotten really into the Jeopardy Greatest of all Time Championship Competition, so it has been fun to discuss the highlights at morning meeting.

One of our classmates chose to create their cell model project using 3D printing and Tinkercad.  This week we were so excited to welcome Mr. C into our classroom to demonstrate how to print the Tinkercad project and to learn more about different projects we could do with a 3D printer.  We also want to thank Ms. Capano for coordinating this activity.  Check out the photos below!

A huge thanks to Vogue Flower Market on North Boulevard for donating a huge bouquet of lilies (enough for the whole grade level!) so that we could investigate the different parts of the flower.  We had a great time taking them apart and really exploring the parts we were learning about.

What did we work on this week?

Science: Flowers

Math: Probability

Reading: Recognizing non-fiction organizational patterns.

Writing: Adjectives and Adverbs

Social Studies: Southeast states and capitals

Important Dates:
