Hey parents,
check out this Matter Jeopardy game we played today as a review for our matter test tomorrow. My students LOVED this and it covers a lot of things that might be on their test tomorrow! Don’t forget to study in their Science notebooks, which are coming home today!

Here are a few pictures of some of my friends from our 2nd Annual Donahoe Fall Festival today. I wish I could have gotten pictures of them all! We had an amazing day and I can’t wait until next year!

Don’t forget that tonight is PTA in the gym at 6:00! The fifth graders will be performing a skit about ways to defend friends who are being bullied! Come check it out!
If your child comes to PTA, they do not need to do homework. If they DO NOT come, homework will be due tomorrow – just like usual.

We used clues to determine animals that had gotten loose from the Zoo! Check out our advertisements we made to describe some of the animals you might see, their habitats, and if they are a herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore! Let us know what you think!

Our Donahoe Fall Festival is coming up on Saturday, October 15th, and our class has made a poster using Comic Life to PERSUADE everyone in the community to come out! Hope to see you all there!
We’ve had two full weeks of third grade – and we are starting to settle into our daily routine. We just wrapped up a study on the Government and are diving head-first into a three week unit on Animals.
We are reading “Pepita Talks Twice” from our reading books are will be talking about statements and questions.
In math, we are reviewing place value to the 100’s place (ones, tens, hundreds) and making sure we have a firm grasp before moving onto larger numbers in the weeks to come.
A permission form came home today about our first field trip to Maymont Park on Thursday, October 6th. Please fill out and return the purple form as soon as possible. Remember – we are taking cash only, and I will be drawing chaperone names out of a hat soon!
In today’s folder, you should have also received a book order form, which you can return to me (no later than October 4rd) or you can use the Activation Code on the order form and order online whenever you’d like!
