9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

The City of Richmond’s Department of Fire and Emergency Services hosted its third annual “Richmond 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb” Sunday to honor our fallen brothers from Sept. 11, 2001. Firefighters and individuals from around the state climbed 22 flights of stairs five times to honor those firefighters in New York who climbed the 110 story twin towers. Varina High School’s NJROTC did a ceremonial Color Guard and Honor Guard for the Fire and Emergency Services.

Southern Regional Drill Meet

Varina NJROTC Regional Meet 2013-03-23

The Blue Devil Company recently competed in the Southern Regional Drill Meet. We took home 11 trophies and two “Knock Out” medals.

Kendra A. (Drill Team commander) and Axis C. (PT commander) led the drill and PT teams to victory.

At Norfolk Naval Base

Blue Devil Company visits Norfolk Naval Base. Norfolk Naval Base is located in Virginia; the naval base is home to the United States Navy, supporting naval forces in the United States Fleet Forces Command.

Every year Navy Junior ROTC hosts a significant annual event—AMI. It’s more formally known as the annual military inspection. Cadets dress out in uniforms and are tested on knowledge and discipline.
