Laptop Code of Conduct

The technology portion of the code of conduct outlines HCPS rules and expectations for laptop use. It is important that students are aware of what the policy states and how they are expected to use their laptops.

By the end of this topic students will be able to:

Be familiar with the  the  proper behavior and guidelines regarding their county issued laptop.

The computers should/can be:

  •  used for instructional use only
  •  online activity can be remotely monitored by an administrator
  •  used for “legal” activities – personal responsibility and integrity (Do not attempt to bypass the filter or install software)

  2. Locate section 12: Technology and the Acceptable Use Policy
  3. Click here to download a quick guide to Laptop Rules. Your teacher will review this quick guide with you. Ask questions as needed.
  4. Click here to go to an online art pad.  Please choose an AUP/Laptop Rule you feel is important and create a poster.  You can save your work by taking a screen shot using the “snipping tool” on your computer.  Search Windows – Snipping Tool.
  5. Click here to download information on Help Desk procedures & repair/incentive program.
  6. Your teacher will review the Help Desk and repair incentives program with you.
