Laptops and Tablets

In 2000, Henrico County Public Schools became the first school system in the country to implement a one-to-one, take-home laptop initiative in grades 6-12 so that all students would have equitable access to technology and be prepared to be life-long creative learners, communicators, and critical thinkers in this digital age. All students receive a laptop computer or tablet and use it daily as an integral part of instruction. Most content used in classrooms is digital in nature so having access to a device is vital when teaching and learning.

Student Laptop/Tablet Repairs

All computer and software issues are managed through the School Help Desks and our Technology Support Technicians. While we strive for prompt and efficient service, there are often times that a ticket requires additional time for parts to arrive or to devise a fix. To report any issue you may have, please do the following:

  1. Report the issue to the Helpdesk/TST (Technology Support Technician).
  2. The TST will determine if the laptop can be repaired and the time it will take.
  3. If the repair will require more than one school day, the student will be notified when the laptop is ready to be picked up.

For Elementary Students the classroom teacher will report any technology issues to their computer contact at the school for support.
