Fall Internal Reflective Friends Day with a Consultant

The purpose of the day with the consultant is to build capacity in the building by exposing more educators to the reflective friends process.

Prior to Site Visit

  • Administrator(s) communicate with all staff that visitors will be in the building and share the purpose of the visit.
  • The ITRT works with administrative team to determine which teachers to include in the experience. Consider department leaders, past and present Reflective Friends participants, Henrico 21 teachers, and other key teacher leaders.
  • Administrator(s) invite identified teachers to be part of the process and arranges for coverage (if necessary. It may be possible to work with teachers during their planning time.)
  • ITRT facilitates the development of a daily schedule based on provided template (Coming soon)
  • ITRT supports teachers that may be involved in short observations during the visit

Site Visit

  • The consultant engages in conversation with school administrators about the school’s 21st century goals and professional development plans
  • The consultant facilitates a mini-reflective friends cycles within the school; including norming, abbreviated classroom observations, and conversations about 21st century instruction.
  • The consultant works with school leadership to identify resources and support that could assist in addressing 21st century school goals.

After the Visit

  • The consultant will debrief with the instructional technology specialist on requested resources and action items.
