Weekly Agenda – September 27th

This morning we had a schoolwide Lock & Teach and Lock & Hide Drill.  During both of these drills we remained in the classroom.  For the Lock & Teach, I simply close the door and continue teaching.  For the Lock & Hide…we close the door, find a quiet place in the classroom (away from windows & doors), cut off the lights, & stay as quiet as we can.  I kept the explaination for these drills pretty simple…this is just in case something is going on in part of the school that may not be safe for us.  The kids did a fantastic job!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

If you have not  yet done so, please send in an art smock for your child.  It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, an old oversized t-shirt will work.  They will be working with paint and other materials that could get on their clothes.

This week I will continue evaluating reading, letter sounds & identification, and spelling skills with the students.
