Feb. 10-14

What a fun and exciting week! 100th day, Valentine’s Day, and Paw Achievement day! The kids had a blast! Thank you! Thank you! We couldn’t do it without you sending in 100th day snacks, valentines, items for making snow and ice cream sundaes!

The students enjoyed dressing as 100 year olds and sharing their collections.  We will keep the collections as we will use them to group into 10’s and count to 100 next week!

Next week’s agenda:

Language Arts: Non-fiction Texts: Questioning

Ask and answer questions about what is read.

Identify text features specific to topic, such as titles, headings, and pictures.

Poem: Jack and Jill

Words: down, went

Phonics:  compare digraph /ch/ /sh/, intro /th/

Math:  Count objects by 10’s to 100

The student will  count forward by tens to determine the total number of objects to 100.

Social Studies: African American/Community History

The student will recognize that history describes events and people from other times and places by

  1. a) identifying examples of historical events, stories, and legends that describe the development of the local community; and
  2. b) identifying the people who helped establish and lead the local community over time.

Big Idea

Recognize that history describes events and people from other times and places.

Describe the contributions of African Americans who helped changed the lives of Americans.
