Jan. 13-17

This week we have been busy learning about snow stories. We finally got colder weather today! We have been predicting what will happen next in our stories. We’ve read the poem “Snowflakes, snowflakes” and knew many of the words in this poem. Please keep practicing those rainbow words at home! We are beginning to write sentences on our own, using capital letter first, using word wall words, punctuation, and sounding out CVC (3 letter words). Wow! That’s a lot!

In math, we have learned games to reinforce Part/part/whole. For example, 2 and 1, 3 and 0, 0 and 3, 1 and 2 make 3! We will continue this next week.

In science, we finished up learning about magnets. The students enjoyed searching for objects in the room that are attracted to magnets and drawing these items in their journals. Ask you child what some of these things were!
