This week was a fun one in room E-19. We celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday in a variety of ways. First, we had some delicious treats from our amazing parents! On Wednesday, the students dined on truffula trees, Dr. Seuss hats, green eggs and ham, and Lorax cupcakes after participating in a D.E.A.R. (drop everything and read) drill. What a fun way to celebrate! On Thursday, we had a virtual lesson with the Math and Science Center. After reading “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins”, our lesson took us through in and out tables, finding patterns, working through word problems, and finding different combinations of hats and feathers. The kids really enjoyed connecting with other classes around the state of Virginia. Lastly, Mrs. Adams from the library came to our class to read to the students. She read the new Dr. Seuss book, “What Pet Should I Get”. We had a fantastic time celebrating this week!
