NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Happy New Year 2015!

3.5 years until you all Graduate!!!!

I hope that all of you had a great winter break and happy holidays.  It’s that time of the year again to make some new years resolutions.  Most people will make a professional and personal resolution each year.  This year my plan is to try to eat healthier (personal) and also try and become more organized (professional).

What are some of your school related new year’s resolutions for this year????????

(Also, it’s pretty cool that the World didn’t end!

Tell the class of 2016

What’s up 2015,

As we wind down here at Godwin and look forward to winter break I wanted to take some time to help next year’s Freshmen class prepare for high school.  By now you know that Godwin has a tradition of student service.  Each and every day I watch our students go out of their way to help others.  This is a tradition that I think our class can continue and even enhance!

This is what I would like for you to do:

1. Please post a quick testimonial (just a few lines) on what next year’s Freshmen class should know before coming to Godwin to help them transition to high school.

2. The advice can be related to anything “Godwin”.  You can talk about scheduling, homework, social stuff, sports, clubs, hallways, WHATEVER…….(as long as it is school appropriate :) )

3. Copies of your testimonials will be sent to Pocahontas and Byrd to be made available to our future 9th grade Eagles.

4. If you are interested in doing a quick movie with advice to be put in a montage, please leave a note on my door in the office (#Mr. Massa) and I will track you down and record you. Remember that the point of the movie is for our rising 9th graders to see the movie at either their middle school or at Eagle Academy.  The 8th grade is your audience.

I am super excited to send this to our future students!!!!!

Thanks, you guys are the best.

SO FAR

Well 2015,

We are a quarter of the way through your freshmen year.  Time flies when you are having fun.  So far we have had your orientation with senior skits and mentors, PSAT where you reviewed some colleges, our first Class of 2015 meeting, pep rallies, football (one featuring an awesome rainbow), homecoming festivities and now your first grades.  A few questions that I would love for you to reflect upon.

1. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE LEARNED ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL LIFE SO FAR?

2.  WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST FUN THING THAT YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR?

3. DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU FIT IN HERE, WHY OR WHY NOT?

4. HAS THE FLOG BEEN HELPFUL?

I am so proud of the class of 2015.  You guys have been a dream and have really represented Godwin’s tradition of excellence in everything you have done.  I hope that you continue to do great things and try as hard as you can.

SCHOOL SPACE FEEDBACK

What’s up 2015,

I need your help.  I need some brave souls to fire up some comments attached to this post concerning how easy/hard SchoolSpace has been for you to use this year.  I want to know what you think works, and what doesn’t.  I don’t want to hear teacher names on here, but I would like to know different things you have seen that may help you or things that you see on SchoolSpace that make it harder to use.

Some things to think about:

1. Could you go on everyday and find exactly what happened in school if you missed a day?

2. Could someone who had never been told where to find information on SchoolSpace be able to log in and find homework?

3.  How often do you go onto SchoolSpace and if you lost your bookbag/notebook, could you retrieve everything you needed for a unit test on your SchoolSpace classes?

Have a great day and let’s have a collegial converstation!

Homecoming Reflection

Good afternoon class of 2015.

I hope everyone had a great time during our homecoming weekend!  I was wondering what your favorite part of the festivities were?  (pep rally, parade, game, dance)

I know that my favorite part was the pep rally.  I enjoyed the teacher dance and the senior dance.  I also enjoyed the parade even though the weather was bad.  I keep on hearing great things about the 2015 float.  I thought it was awesome!  I created a page that you can access above that has homecoming pics.  So far I just have some pep rally pics.  Please email me with any pics you want to include and I will include them on the homecoming page. (if download space allows)

So, class of 2015, WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT HOMECOMING WEEKEND???????
