We took the Marshmallow Challenge at STREAM night on Wednesday, June 10th. We had over 80 families join us for the challenge. 20 spaghetti noodles, 1 yard of tape, 1 yard of string and a marshmallow needs to balance on top of the structure that is engineered. What a great way to work together as a family to solve a different type of problem, an Engineering Problem!
During our “Christmas Mother Can Collection” season, each class took some tape and marked off a place on the floor for the students to build with cans! Here in Mrs. Locher’s class, the students built a “swimming pool” out of cans! I believe the large can of “Beans” could be a diving board! During our school-wide “Can Assembly” Mrs. Overman produced a slide show of all of the different structures the students built K-5! This was a great “School Wide” STEM connection!!! Great job Maybeury!
