Cozy and sweet, these kiddos earned their special treat! After weeks of working hard to display the cardinal way in our classroom, hallway, cafeteria and other various places throughout the school, these hard working kindergartners filled up their warm fuzzy jar!
The Bedford Falls Book Fair is coming to the Shady Grove Library next week! Your child will be bringing home a flyer this week with information about this annual fundraising opportunity. The flyer will feature many of the new and popular books offered by the Fair, but the Fair itself, held in the school’s Library, will contain hundreds of wonderful books for sale. Money raised from Book Fair sales will be used to purchase more Library books for the Shady Grove collection—books that can be borrowed and shared by ALL of our students! If you’d like to add some new books to your home library collection, or to purchase a few titles for the upcoming gift giving season, please consider visiting the Book Fair in the Library! (Check, cash, or Mastercard and Visa accepted.)
Dates and times for the Fair
Tuesday, November 14th: 2:30-5:00pm
Wednesday, November 15th: 2:30-7:00pm
Thursday, November 16th: 2:30-5:00pm
We had so much fun on Halloween, dressing as our favorite book characters and parading around the school! So many cute and creative costumes. On the side of this page there is a “class highlights” section with pictures scrolling. If you click on this, there will be a slideshow of all pictures taken on Tuesday. Enjoy!
Last week we read the story, Pumpkin Jack and learned about the pumpkin life cycle. In the story, the little boy takes his pumpkin, Jack, to his garden and throughout the book you watch the pumpkin change and the life cycle begin. This week, we took our pumpkin that we coincidentally named Jack, out to our school garden to rest with the other kindergarten pumpkins. We plan on visiting Jack every few days to see how he is changing.
Here we are with Jack and his pumpkin friends!
