So far we have had a pretty eventful week, only 3 days in! On Tuesday, we enjoyed our visit from a special guest who shared about his native american culture. He talked to us about life as a native american, the clothes he was wearing and some of us even participated in a native american dance/song! We also enjoyed a guidance lesson today and have been practicing telling time and reading both analog and digital clocks. We played a fun game on the computer called Stop the Clock! Click the link below to play at home! We are looking forward to the Rock-a-thon tomorrow afternoon and the spring like weather!

Here’s a peek at our native american fun
Today we celebrated the wonderful children’s author, Dr. Seuss and celebrated “Read Across America Day” by buddy reading various Dr. Seuss books. We also reviewed for our M&M (matter/magnet) “brain challenge” by wondering, exploring and discovering! To refresh our brains on the subject of matter, we experimented the many forms matter comes in and answered the question “can matter be in the same place at same time?”. We used water and rocks (blocks) to help us see that the water level rose as we placed in rocks in the cup. This proved that the level was rising because matter can’t be in the same place, the water was rising to make “room” for the rock. We then explored that even though we can’t see it, air has mass and takes up space. We all went home with balloons to use as a study tool!
Parents: make sure to have your child explain/ teach you about what they know and why in the world Miss Williams gave them a balloon for homework!
