Let it Snow!!! I hope everyone is enjoying some fun in the snow!!!  This week we will be traveling the world as we learn about how different countries celebrate the holidays.  We have many fun activities planned.   Students will also be coming home with a page to complete about their family traditions.  I would like to have students share about their traditions and customs on Wednesday, December 19.  Please notes that the family traditions do not need to be only about Christmas.  If your family celebrates other special holidays, please share those too.  We are interested in learning about many different customs.

We will also have  a Community-Based Instruction (CBI) activity on Dec. 17 to the Short Pump Town Center.  We will visit Capital One for hot chocolate, Apple for a story read aloud, and then Santa as we learn about this custom celebrated in many countries including America.

A parent also shared this upcoming event if you are interested.

Upcoming Events:

Dec. 17: CBI to Short Pump Town Center, Permission Slip go home this week.  Please return by Friday.  Cost will be determined soon.

Dec. 20: Winter Break Begins

Jan 3: School reopens from winter break.

Announcements:

  • Water bottles are highly encouraged.  Our classroom is a long way from a water fountain and this will help us maximize instructional time.
  • As the weather begins to get colder, please remember that students do still go outside if it is nice.  Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately and brings a jacket/coat.
