Happy Mother’s Day to you all!  We have been working hard on a surprise for you this week.  Thanks in advance to those of you who sent in supplies for our final workshop celebrations!  The children are looking forward to it tomorrow.  I hear there are going to be dirt cups and worms to eat!!!!

We are finishing up our life cycles unit and will be working on Maps and Globes in late May.  I am currently testing them in reading and so you have not seen any small practice books going home.  I am so impressed by how far they have come.  Reading is a journey.  We are working on building fluency and comprehension.  No reason to read if we don’t understand it or read to enjoy it!  I hate mentioning summer, but it will be here before we know it.  Keep on reading nightly and all throughout summer.  In my last blog I mentioned important dates.  Here they are again.

May 31 – Field Day

June 6 – Kindergarten program 11-12  Please arrive a bit before we go on promptly at 11.

June 7 – STEAM night/Cub celebration

June 11 – No school for students

June 14 – Last day of school (half day)

Thanks for a wonderful Teacher appreciation week!

Let’s finish Kindergarten strong!
