What fun we had dressing up to celebrate Read Across America week and honor Dr. Seuss!  Reading and making rhyming words is fun!

I hope you found the picture envelope and field trip form in your child’s folders. Pictures are this Friday, March 15 and our field trip is on April 25.

We finished our unit on magnets in science and we are discussing seasonal changes.

In math we will be identifying a penny, nickel, dime and quarter.  Students will be asked to tell the value of each coin as well.  As an extension activity, I will be having them count a collection of pennies and nickels.  They will not need to master this in Kindergarten, but I like to introduce it.  Counting money is fun, but tricky.

As always, please keep reading and discussing the books at home.  We have been talking about character traits.  We said The Cat in the Hat is very naughty, silly, funny and happy!

Have a great week!
